Petranek Award Named for the founder and musical director of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras for its first 40 years, this honor is bestowed annually upon "persons or an organization for outstanding community service in enriching the musical life of the Washington Metropolitan Area." Dale Music is being honored for its 50-plus years of serving the music needs of Montgomery County. The award will be publicly presented at the 61st Spring concert of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra to be held Sunday, May 20, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Music Center at Strathmore.
